Protein overnight oats

Hey guys!

Today I want to share my protein overnight oats with you, I know that this is a super simple recipe but some people are still not aware of it or can’t get it right.

First, here are the ingredients needed:

  • 1/2 cup of oats. (I like the old fashioned oats but your can use any kind)
  • a little bit over 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 scoop of whey protein of your choice. (I usually like it more with chocolate whey)

First you mix the oatmeal and water and instead of putting in the fridge like that, microwave it for about 1:30/2 minutes and then add the scoop of whey, mix it well, cover and put it in the fridge over night or for at least 2 hours.

When it’s ready to eat you can top it as you wish. I usually use strawberries and bananas and sometimes some coconut flakes and almonds. This is SOOOO DELICIOUS and feeling. It’s a great idea for a quick breakfast, pre or post work out or snack. If you’re not into whey protein or don’t need it you can use cocoa powder! I personally eat this everyday either for breakfast or post workout!

I hope you guys enjoyed the recipe and if you make it please let me know in the comments how you liked it!

My story with graphic design.

As you guys know I’m pursuing my graphic design associates at Wake Tech, but did you know that I actually studied business for 2 years before dropping out moving countries and then deciding to study graphic design? Yes! But why graphic design? Well I love art and love creating art, I’ve always loved to draw and make up stories and slogans for pretty much everything in my life and business school didn’t allow me to let my creativity free, that’s not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So, I decided to take a gap year, travel and decide what to do later. I moved from Brazil to the States and in 2017 I started my first semester at Wake Tech still unsure of what I was going to do with my life. Spring 2019 I took my first Graphic Design class very intimidated since everyone in the class seemed so sure and experienced in the area and I was so unsure about everything, didn’t know much about the field and as the semester went thru I knew for sure Graphic Design is my field! And since this blog is about fitness, I’m going to share a promotional poster about a healthy lifestyle magazine I did for one of my classes! Let me know what you think and what is your field of study!

Backpacking Guide!

Today I want to give a big shot out to Kristen from bearfoottheory.com, if you haven’t heard about her blog you are missing out! She does an amazing job on sharing her experiences and tips for the outdoors world!! If you want to know about hiking, backpacking, camping, living in a van Kristen is your girl! She’s a huge inspiration and today I want to share one of her posts with you guys!

This post is a backpacking 101 guide, when I saw this I was “OMG how I haven’t thought about doing something like this” as you guys know I LOVE backpacking and at the beginning when you don’t have a lot of experience it can be quite challenging and it takes a lot of tries and error to get your backpacking system “right”. I know each person has their way of doing things and what’s best for me might not me the best for you but Kristen did such a good job on wrapping up the essentials that I had to share it here.

She starts off by sharing a few tips on how to prepare yourself physically for such trip, stretches and exercises  to di beforehand in order to avoid later pain and injuries, she then goes into how to plan the trip, pick a date, check the weather, make sure the trail your choosing that is in line with your fitness level, it is probably smarter to choose a shorter trail with not a whole lot of elevation since you’ll be caring a lot of weight and it might be challenging for the first time. Also make sure to check if the place you’re going requires a camping permit. She lists ten essentials gears you NEED to go backpacking such as backpack, tent, sleeping pad and bag, stove and fuel, headlamp she also links post on how to choose the best gears for you. She then talks about food and mention he favorites camping freeze dried foods, the importance of a water filter and finishes the post sharing tips on how to leave no trace at the campsite and campfire safety.

Kristen’s post was very detailed and helpful and you should definitely go read the whole thing and come back here and tell me in comments how much you loved her blog!
